Emre Abut creates (moving) images, sound collages and performative interventions in which he investigates how contemporary subjectivities emerge and agency is shaped. As an artist he researches at the intersections of institutional critique, structural racism and social research. His artistic practice occurs in different forms, styles and gestures. He is co-founder of the initiative working title group, which deals with powerful exclusions in the field of art and culture and takes action against them. Together with friends he develops artistic strategies to reveal structural inequalities and to change them by highlighting new knowledge and new realities.

He had the privilege to study fine art at artschools in Essen, Istanbul, Vienna and Berlin. Emre Abut is based in the Ruhr Area and in Cologne Germany.
